How Multi-Criterion Optimized Control Methods Improve Effectiveness of Multi-Zone Building Heating System Upgrading

This paper aims to develop multi-objective optimized control methods improve the performance of retrofitting building heating systems in reducing consumed energy as well providing comfortable temperature a multi-zone building. While researchers evaluate various controllers specific systems, comprehensive controller for existing buildings is less investigated. A case study approach with four-story residential simulated. The consumption modeled by EnergyPlus. model validated data. Then, steam system upgraded, and other case, renewed hydronic instead one. Three groups are developed, including Model Predictive Controller (MPC), fuzzy (Fuzzy Logic (FLC) an Optimized Fuzzy Sliding Mode (OFSMC)), traditional ones. These were applied upgraded systems. affected tuning boiler feed flow regulating condensing cycle circulating pump system. Accordingly, renewing improves efficiency up 29% implementing increased effectiveness temperatures environmental footprints 95% 12%, respectively, compared on/off baseline.
